SEASONAL LABORER - PUBLIC WORKS
This is a seasonal hourly position with the Department of Public Works.
This employee will be responsible for mowing, and outdoor work in the City
for the summer of 2023. Responsible for cleaning and maintaining
city-owned and operated buildings, grounds and parks. Hourly wage will be $13.65.

FULL TIME 9-1-1 DISPATCHER/COMMUNICATIONS TECHNICIAN
The Sugar Creek Police Department is currently accepting applications for a dispatcher position.
DEFINITION: To provide emergency communication services; to gather, receive, record and disseminate information from officers and the public to appropriate parties and agencies; and to perform a variety of technical dispatching tasks in support of the communications program on a 24/7 basis.
POSITION SUMMARY: Operates and coordinates combined radio communications for police and fire services. Dispatches Police and Fire personnel to emergency and non-emergency calls. Duties include operation of 9-1-1, computer-aided dispatch, NCIC/MULES/REJIS systems, emergency preparedness weather warning sirens, TDD-TTY (hearing impaired phone), multi-line telephone system, multi-frequency radio system. Maintains all procedures manuals, directories and maps and performs related duties. Must be able to multi-task and react to high stress situations. In addition to contact with the Police Department and Fire Department, this position requires interaction with Codes, other City departments, and Ambulance Personnel, as well as citizens and visitors needing services.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent and be at least 18 years of age. Must have a successful completion of background check, pass a written examination, able to type 35+ wpm. The final part of the selection process includes an oral board (interview) and drug screening. Required Licenses: REJIS Certification, MULES Certification, and NIMS training must be obtained within six months of hire.
Starting Annual Salary: $37,139 ($17.85 hourly) with paid overtime.
Applicants must have the ability to use good judgement and decision-making skills, to think quickly, to follow instructions, to work under stressful situations, to establish priorities, and to pass on information as needed.
Extra duties include: Warrant/vehicle/missing person/article entry, validation of records, cancellation of records, report logging, prisoner bond forms, crime reporting, completion of Exparte/Order of Protection records, confirmations, ordinance violation complaints, intake/outtake log, animal control complaints, miscellaneous filing, keeping scheduling logs accurate and up-to-date, approving miscellaneous permits, monitoring surveillance cameras, and report dissemination.
