2024 Sky-High Kite Festival Cancelled

Due to the 3.5” of rain we received last week and today’s heavy rains and weekend forecast, The City of Sugar Creek, City of Independence and Great American Kites and Events will be cancelling the Sky-High Kite Festival scheduled for this Saturday, May 4 2024.  We want to thank all the families, food trucks and individuals that worked with us to plan this day of family fun and look forward to announcing a 2025 date the beginning of next year.  A reminder that once the weather dries out - Sugar Creek and Independence have many great parks with open areas away from power lines to fly your own small kites during the year to get ready for 2025!
